As filming for “Quixotical” ended, things seemed great for the machinima project that would take the title of the most immense, most ambitious Halopen movie yet. Voice over auditions came in steadily, some re-filming had been done, and even a few rewrites took place which made “Quixotical” more solid and amusing. But then things began to fall apart. Its sister project, “Quixotical: {CITIZEN TRANSFER}”, was canceled, voice actors were either dropping out or not sending their lines in, and more. I was hoping things would get better over time, but still “Quixotical” was breaking down and gathering dust. Recently, I canceled the project for quite a few reasons. 1) Reclaimer’s and my interest for the project were lost, 2) We lacked voice actors to continue past the first scene, 3) It was just too large of a project. But thankfully Reclaimer vowed to finish at least the first scene since it didn’t require voice actors, and it didn’t require a lot of refilming. So, here, I present to you is the first scene from “Quixotical” and probably the only scene you will see from this failed project.

“Quixotical” was to be a drama/dark comedy (ala Terry Gilliam’s “Brazil”) about a mousy, child-like man, George Blaine, stuck in the middle of a large, topsy-turvy bureaucratic society where work is life and life is work and whose only means of escape was through his dreams of action hero-esque feats. As the movie would have moved along, complications and many a rule and regulation would have begun George’s struggle with the real world and the world of his fantasies. The above scene is the first of the movie; taking place in one of those flights of fancy in which George Blaine imagines himself as an invincible heroic figure pursued by a group of heavily armed, faceless men.
