HEY! Who wants a new sig?

I am fired up and I feel like making a sig.

However, I wanna practice making sigs like this

Just tell me what Game/Movie Trailer you want and what part of it you want in the sig. NO MORE THAN 15 seconds! The sig above was about 13 seconds.


I will also include your name with a cool text effect.

I will only do like 1 or 2 for now, so whoever wants one let me know. I need the practice.

Me I lost all my sigs in the transfer and I want somthing that has to do with a Roflcopter or the L4D hunter

ok heres the way I do it.

All you need to do is download whatever trailer you want and edit it using whatever editor you may have.

The goal is try to get the file as small as possible so do limit your movie to no more than 15 seconds. So do whatever you can to make it smaller delete the audio anyway because it wont show up by the time you're done.

Just edit the trailer/movie to the 15 seconds that you want, as if you were making an actual movie. I did all my stuff in vegas. INCLUDING text. By the time you are done you will have your sig just in gigantic form, so how do we fix this and make it into a picture?

Make sure you save it in QUICKTIME format.

Then open your 15 second quicktime movie in Imageready, If you have photoshop you should have imageready. Some later versions of photoshop may have imageready built in. A menu will pop up saying Range to import. Make sure you select from beginning to end.

It may take a bit depending on the size of your movie, but thats normal.

Ok so you should have a gigantic size of your sig in imageready now, there will be hundreds of frames in the animation box. You can even press play if you like and it will probaly run very slow, do not freak out thats normal.

Go to Image > Image size when you're here change the size of your movie. The size I used for my D3 sig and Vins sig was W: 400 pixels by H: 170 pixels.

After thats done you should have a sig sized movie. Go to Image > Canvas size and change in to the exact same thing as your image size. It should already be set to it but make sure.

Notice if you press play, it still may be slow as all hell. But whats wrong? You have a finished product ready to show off to all your friends!

Go to File > Save optimized as Then save it as a .GIF file it should say images only.

Go to your web browser and go to photobucket and log in. Don't have a photobucket account? Make one it's free and it's awesome.

Upload your gif file to photobucket, sometimes when it reaches 100% it wont appear so just hit refresh, it may look like photobucket is glitching all weird like when you do it but it all fixes the next time you log in.

Im not sure what photobucket does to my file but for me it no longer runs slow! Photobucket is magic I guess. Just get the IMG code and thats your brand new movie sig! Enjoy

It may take a bit cuz your following my instructions 1 by 1 but once you make your first sig, just keep practicing making more and you can make these kinds of sigs in no more than half an hour. Note I have not tried this with avatars yet, but my theory is if you wanted an avatar, just make the movie 100x100 and instead of using the IMG code photobucket gives you, just use the url.

Also the reason why I havent finished Firestorms sig yet is because vegas likes to play tricks on me and doesnt like to edit movies already in Quicktime format, so I can only edit with .wmv files. So finding his trailer in wmv format is a pain in the ass. To me finding the right trailer in wmv format takes longer than making the sig itself. Gotta love the internet. I found vins trailer on gametrailers.com and I found mine at Blizzards site. And blizzard kicks so much ass you can download the trailers in any format you want.

if you guys want a faster rendering process (to save it as quicktime format, with little quality loss) This is in Sony Vegas Pro 8:

Select File> Render As Then when your window comes up put in what you want to name your file and under file type select Quicktime 7 [".mov]

The click the Custom button and under Video Rendering Quality: select Best

From there click the Video tab at the bottom of the window

For Frame Rate select: 15,000 (Multimedia)

Field Order: None (Progressive scan)

Pixel Aspect Ratio: 0,909 (0.909)

Video Format: DV-PAL

Quality: Slide the bar to around 75 (75,4)



With these settings it should do a 10-15 sec edited video in less than a minute. It did it on my computer in no time and its a piece of shit, so yeah.
